The Crown and Two Chairmen

Update

So it’s probably about time to update everyone with quite a bit of band news.

-  We have been in the studio with Daniel Larson for the past few weeks and will be finalizing most of the in-studio recording this week. The album is untitled for now, it will total at about 50 min and contain 5 tracks and 4/5 short interludes. We are putting a lot of work into this and really hope that everyone enjoys the end product! Expect to see a release this June or July. As we get closer to things, more specifics will come!

-  This last week we put in a merch order for t-shirts and buttons and also are printing off a few limited edition posters to sell at our next show

-  We sold through all of our pre-sale tickets for the 4/28 show at Sub-t with The Dear Hunter, The Felix Culpa and The Fireship (RSVP at http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=112138822137257&index=1). - As of today, we have 5 dates booked this summer for a short tour with The Slowest Runner in all the World (http://www.myspace.com/slowestrunnerinalltheworld) and Bird by Snow (http://www.myspace.com/birdbysnow). These cities include Detroit, Grand Rapids, Chicago, Madison and Iowa City. We are working on a few more dates and will keep everyone posted!

The next 3 weeks

So, as you all know by now, the next three weeks are pretty busy for us and we are going to have lots of good stuff going on. Just to give you a quick run down:

- We go into the studio starting April 8th to begin recording a full-length (9 track) album,  to be released this summer. We will be recording with Daniel Larson, who helped us put out our last EP in the Fall of 2009 and are really looking forward to this. We will be working on the album packaging and artwork with Jennifer Bozek (http://www.jmcbdesigns.com/), so expect an AWEWSOME final product when we get this thing pressed.

- On April 9th we have a show at The Elbo Room (http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=105702549460642&index=1). Tickets are $9 and starts at 9:00PM

- On April 28th we are playing a HUGE show with The Dear Hunter, The Felix Culpa and The Fireship at Sub-t. This show will surely sell out, so make sure to get your tickets in advance (http://www.ticketweb.com/t3/sale/SaleEventDetail?dispatch=loadSelectionData&eventId=1243855&REFID=subtcal). We will have a very small number of presale tickets available, with no fees, so get ahold of us if anyone is interested. An event invite will be sent out next week with more details, so look forward to that. We will be giving away a FREE gift to everyone that comes to the show.

- In the meantime we are also working some new merch, to be premiered on the 28th. We are working on designing a small patch of t-shirts and posters with Jennifer Bozek and Sarah Plovanich. Early mock ups are quite incredible, so make sure to come out on the 28th and grab one before we run out!

New video coming soon

Hey guys, just thought we would take the time to update this new blog with a bit of band news -

Expect to see some HD video footage of us playing some new songs at practice coming later this week! Solano just got a Canon EOS 7D and we therefore need an application for his frivolous spending.

Also, don’t forget about the show coming up on the 28th. The RSVP list so far has been huge and the support means a lot! There is the chance of a fairly large show announcement for us in April if this one goes well so we really hope that every is able to make it out.

In other news, we will be going into the studio with Daniel Larson during the first few weeks of April to record a new full legnth album. Track lists and album title will be released on here as things get closer but overall, expect to see a new album early summer 2010.
